Recently I've been having more conversations with people around what high sensitivity is and even more so, high sensitivity is not! It seems that the label of "sensitivity" certainly gets a bad rap, and although we may not explicitly endorse a perception that sensitivity is a "weakness," it can very well be an unconscious belief that we hold. These unconscious beliefs then shape our experience of not only the world around us, but our beliefs around who we should be! So if sensitivity is a weakness, why would we want to associate ourselves with high sensitivity!?

These conversations have reminded me that I too still hold negative unconscious beliefs around sensitivity which were developed in childhood. Yet, if I could go back, there are six key things that I'd like to tell my highly sensitive younger self. In sharing these things, I hope that they will also support you to identify any limiting beliefs that you hold around sensitivity.
